Amazon Prime’s FYC House returned in 2022, held at a private mansion in L.A. This tea room is one main section of the overall activation, named “The Studio”, and is themed on the Amazon Prime mini-series A Very British Scandal. With the series based on the tumultuous marriage of the Duke & Duchess of Argyle in the UK during 1960s, and the secrets written in the Duchess’ diary, the call to action for guests was to snoop around and find “easter eggs” related to the scandal.

Prime Video’s 2022 Emmy FYC destination gave voters of the Television Academy and other entertainment industry guilds an opportunity to connect with its roster of highly rated programs. After 2 years on hiatus due to the pandemic, the first IRL event came back, set in a sprawling private residence where every spot was taken over by one of Prime’s IP activations and branded touchpoints.
Moodboard
I drew inspiration from the main protagonist’s own writing and the styling of the era. The “scandalous” tea lounge was filled with “easter eggs” to snoop for by rifling through nooks and crannies hidden throughout the space.
The AVBS lounge consists of two spaces: an opulent gilded photo moment upon entering, and the main black and white tea lounge.
Renders
The first touch point of The Studio was the gilded mirrored photo moment, which I designed with inspiration from the Duchess’ opulent parties. The tea lounge is designed with large scrawlings I pulled from her journal and plastered throughout the space with just enough legibility, and the space is styled with elegant black and white furniture and decor of the era.
Additional touchpoints I designed are an IP photo wall in the mansion’s vestibule, and the TV tarot patio space.
